PUBLIC NOTICE. rTIHE attention of all persons selling arms JL ammunition, or other warlike stores is called to the Governor's Proclamation, republished in the Provincial Government Gazette of this day. By this Proclamation the regulations now in force in this province, in reference to the importation, landing, sale, or other disposal of aruis,"gunpowder, or other warlike stores, and all licenses heretofore issued for the above purposes, will, on and after the Ist. of October next, become null and void. Fresh licenses, in accordance with the terms of his Excellency's Proclamation, can, on and after the same date, be obtained on application at the Resident Magistrate';? Office, in Christchurch or Ly tteiton, or to ilr. W. J. W. Hamilton, Lytteltou. All persons landing, selling or disposing of arms, ammunition, &c, contrary to Jaw, are liable to a penalty of £500. The existing regulations respecting the making, constructing, amending, or repairing of arms, gunpowder, or other warlike stores, are not affected by the Proclamation above referred too.
