The Lyttelton Times.
Wednesday, September 2. On Friday the last claims to vote for the Provincial Elections were sent in. It remains now for the officers, whose duty it is in the different districts, to make up the lists of claims and to appoint the days for hearing objections. We hope that especially in the outlying districts they will do this as speedily as possible, in order to allow ample time for the printing of the different electoral rolls before the Superintendent's election comes on. It is very essential that complete rolls for all the districts should be in the hands of the presiding officer at every polling place in the Province before the day of election. As several applications have been made at this office for information concerning the state of the law as it at present stands on the subject of revising the rolls, &c, and as copies of Sir George Grey's proclamation of the sth of March, 1853, are exceedingly scarce, we will publish on Saturday the substance of the clauses which have special reference to this subject altered according to the provisions of the Provincial Council Extension Ordinance.
