VICTORIA. The latest dates from Melbourne report commercial matters as dull. The ' Age' of July 5 says that — " Owing to the intelligence of the disastrous floods in New South Wales, there has been a considerable rise in breadstuff's and provender. In oats an advance of Is. 6d. to 2s. per bushel is being asked—viz.: 13s. 6d. to 14s. per, bushel for colonial. Scotch and Irish oats 11s., at which sales have been effected. Flour still ranges from £21 10s. to £22; Barley 10s.; Wheat Bs. 9d. to 95.; Bran, 2s. 9d. to 35." NEW SOUTH WALES. From Sydney, we have mercantile intelligence to the 27th iust., by way of Melbourne. The 'Morning Herald' of. that date summarises commercial matters as follows : The flour market is brisker, but the millers still quote fine flour at £20, and seconds £18 per ton. Fifty tons Adelaide flour were sold to-day by auction at £21 2s. 6d., bags taken at invoice price. A quantity of Chilian flour was sold by a private firm at £21 10s., and holders are now asking £22 to £22 10s. per ton. Wheat 7s. to Bs. The market for liquids is firm, although few transactions have taken place this week. Martell's dark brandy was sold to-day by auction at 18s. 6d. Rum has changed hands at ss. 9d. to ss. 10d. ; Geneva at 18s. 9d. to 19s. Id. In wines there is no alteration to notice. Sherry, in hogsheads, has been sold at 7s. 3d. to 9s. 3d. Bottled beer and porter are firm at quotations.
