Melbourne and Lyttelton, is prepared to pay the undernamed suras to the Master of any vessel bringing down the English Mail from Melbourne, and taking a mail back to Melbourne to meet the English Steamers, :.subject to the following conditions: — 1. That the Master shall produce a ■certificate from the Post Office authorities at Melbourne stating that he applied for the -mail immediately on the arrival of the English Mail Steamer. 2. That he shall produce a similar ■ certificate stating the day and hour upon which the mail is put on board his vessel. 3. That he shall sail from Lyttelton with the return mail to Melbourne as soon, as he •cc^feniently can, and shall not. unless compelled by stress of weather, call at any ,-< l &\ termediate port either coining or rctiirn,r The sums to be paid will be as follows:— For bringing down the Mails and delivering them to the Post Office authorities "at Lyttalton. Within 9 days from the time the Mails are put on Board at Melbourne £170 Do. 11 do. do 150 Do. 13 do. do 120 Do. 15 do. do 70 Do. 18 do. do 40 Do. 20 do. do 10 An additional sum of £30 will be paid if the return Mail be delivered at Melbourne in time for the second English Mail steamer leaving after the Mail brought down.
