"VTOTICE is hereby giveir that, pursuant -LH to'instructions from the Govern- . ment of New Zealand,, the Union; Bank of Australia, Lyttelton, will receive Tenders for the whole or any portion of the sum of Five Thousand Pounds of Debentures of the Government "of New Zealand, -to. be issued under the authority of the New Zealand. Debenture Act, 1856, such Debentures- to be redeemable at the Colonial Treasury in -New Zealand, in Two Years from the date of'payment of the money, and to bear interest at'the rate of £10 per cen- ' turn per annum, payable half-yearly, the'principal and interest being secured on, and payable ' out of the General Revenue of the colony. ; Each Debenture will, at the option of the party tendering, be issued for the sums of Tea, Fifty, or One Hundred Pounds, and the Halfyearly interest will be paid at the Colonial Treasury, or at any branch of the Union Bank of Australia in New Zealand, at the option of the holder. Certificates "of ownership will' be issued, on payment of the amount, to parties whose tenders shall be accepted, and interest will commence from the date of payment. ' Debentures with coupons attached will be ' issued in exchange to the holders of the certificates, as soon as they are received from the New Zealand Government, after advice of negotiation.
