"VTOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant JLi to instructions from the Government of New Zealand, the Union Bank of Australia, Lyttelton, will receive Tenders for the whole or any portion of the sum of Five Thousand Pounds of Debentures of the Government of New Zealand, to be issued under the authority of the- New Zealand Debenture Act, 1856, such Debentures to be redeemable at the Colonial Treasury in New Zealand, in Two Years from the date of payment of the money, and to bear interest at the rate of £10 per centum per annum, payable .half-yearly, the principal and interest being- secured on, and payable out of the General Revenue of the colony. Each Debenture will, at the option of the party tendering, be issued for the sums of Ten, Fifty, or One Hundred Pounds, and the Halfyearly interest will be paid at the Colonial Treasury, or at any branch of the Union Bank of Australia in New Zealand, at the option of the holder. The Undersigned will receive tenders for the above until Three o'clock on Saturday, 21st March, Avhen the tenders will be opened. Certificates of ownership will be issued, on payment of the amount, to parties whose tenders shall be accepted,. and interest will commence from the date of payment. Debentures with coupons attached will be issued in exchange to the holders of the certificates, as soon •as they are received from the New Zealand Government, after advice of negotiation. Tenders. to be under sealed covers, endorsed Tenders for Debentures, and addressed to the undersigned, and to state in Debentures of what amount it is desired to take the sum tendered for. HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified for public information that the upset price of the Eastern and Southern portions of the Christchurch Town Reserves, will, from and after the date hereof, be Fifty-Two Pounds sterling per acre, the additional two pounds per acre being required to provide a fund for the effectual draining of that portion of the Estate. .
