Since our last the Marchioness has sailed ' with a full cargo of wool, intended to reach the ■ London market .via. Melbourne, and the Gil Bias has. arrived with cargo from Sydney. The Myrtle "has also arrived from London, and with the Indian Queen is now unloading. These arrivals will • have caused stocks of goods to be 'very -lai'ge, andwe expect to see extensive sales •attempted The Gil Bias has put us in possession- of the English Mails, but we are glad to state that the arrangement we intimated in our last has been • carried into effect, and the spirited owner of the Marchioness has contracted to have either that vessel, or one of equal speed, ready to sail for this port within a few hours after the arrival of the mail steamers in Melbourne, returning to that port in time for the return of the mail in the succeeding month. We heartily wish the experiment all the success which it deserves.— Spectator, Feb. 7.
