PEOPOSED WHARFS, JETTIES, STORES, * AND MOORINGS: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT at the next Session, of the Pro,vmcial Council of the Province,- pf Canterbury, will.be, made for,an Ordinance to empower John Jenkins Peacock, of. Sydney, New South Wales,, Merchant, to erect one or more Wharf or Wharfs, Jetty ov Jetties, commencing at the., NorthWest end ,of Dublin Street, and, extending from thence to a rocky point North.-West,of Tribe's- Wharf, fronting IJrskine Bayj, in the Harbour of Port Victoria, being a distance of Four chains or thereabouts, with' power/to carry out such Wharf or, Wharfs, Jetty qv : Jettiesj if found requisite, a distance of one hundred .feet from low water mark. Also, ,'to erect and b.uild upon the .reserved land fronting upon the beach along such' Wharf, or Wharfs, Jetty or Jetties, thirty-three feet from high water mark, one or more store or stores or other buildings for the warehousing of goods, wares, and merchandise as he the said John Jenkins Peacock in his discretion shall think proper, so as such Wharf or Wharfs, Jetty or Jetties, Store or Stores, be fully carried out, erected and built by the said John Jenkins Peacock at his own cost, in all things within such time or period and subject to such conditions and restrictions as in the said Bill are mentioned. Also', for power to put down moorings fronting such Wharf or Wharfs, Jetty or Jetties, or otherwise, in the Harbour of Port Victoria, he having the exclusive use thereof. Also for power to receive, get in and collect, certain tolls to be by him charged for the use of such, moch-ings as well',, as wharfage upon all, goods which may be landed at or upon such Wharf or Wharfs, Jetty or Jetties, or shipped therefrom, for such time or period ,as in the said Bill is mentioned. Also, to limit or extinguish .certain rights of way and easements; over the land so proposed to, be taken by .the. said John Jenkins Peacock, and to lease the1 same to him for such term and at such nominal rent as in the said Bill is mentioned. And generally to confer all such powers as are requisite and necessary for enabling the said John Jenkins Peacock fully and effectually to carry out the purposes aforesaid,, and enjoy the rights and privileges proposed in and by the said Bill. NOTICE IS HEREBY ALSO GIVEN, i That, a copy o£ the proposed Bill is deposited for public inspection with the Provincial Solicitor, at his offices in Christchurch, and at my offices in London Street, Lyttelton.
