LETTS'S DIARIES For 1857. J. McCARDELL. ALFRED SCOTT'S ASSIGNMENT. "TTTHEREAS ALFRED SCOTT of W Lyttelton, in the Province of Canterbury and Colony of New Zealand, Butcher, hath, by deed bearing date the 24th day of Dec. instant, Assigned and Transferred all his Household goods and furniture, Stock-in-trade, personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever, unto Robert Heaton Rhodes and John Townsend Parkinson of Lyttelton, aforesaid, for the equal benefit of such of the creditors of the said Alfred Scott as shal) come in and execute the said Deed within two months from the date thereof, Notice is, therefore, hereby given, that the said Deed of Assignment now lies at my office for the inspection and execution of the creditors of the said Alfred Scott; and such of them as shall neglect or refuse to execute the said Deed within the time aforesaid will be excluded from all benefit which may arise therefrom. ALL persons who stand indebted to the Estate and effects of Alfred Scott, of Lyttelton, Butcher, are requested forthwith to pay the amount of their respective debts into my hands, and if not paid on or before the Ist of January next, legal proceedings will be taken to enforce the same without further notice. JEAN BERLAND, Clock and Watch Maker and Jeweller, from Paris, HAS the honor to inform the settlers of Canterbury, that he has Temporarily established himself at Mr. Mutton's, Win-chester-street, where he is prepared to execute carefully all repairs of watches, time-pieces, and jewellery, at reasonable rates.
