SPAIN.
The affairs of Spain are represented in correspondence under date of Madrid, 14th. inst., as going daily from bad to worse; that at a council held on the 12th the Queen asked if the Cabinet had taken any resolution on the sale of church property, to which O'Donnell replied, that this measure had already produced valuable results, and that he could not introduce any modification in a law voted by the Cortes, sanctioned by the Queen, and solemnly promulgated. The Queen demanded that the law should be suspended until the new Cortes could take a definite resolution concerning it. Two days after^ the new constitution was proclaimed; but it i* not known whether any compromise has been made on the question of the church property.
