THE well known " Bricks Wharf" situated in the Town of -Christchurch; and especially adapted, from its depth of water and position, for the loading and discharging of small craft. The Provincial Government having recently voted a sum of money in aid of Steam Cominunjr^don, the above presents a splendid opportunity for parties desirous of embarking in the finest field of enterprise now open in the province, by the introduction of a steamer (which might be built in Sydney for the purpose) on the River Avon, to run from the Bricks Wharf to Lyttelton, thus securing the greater part of the carrying trade, and settling at once the long discussed question of the Sumner Road.
