Total statute adults HSi. There were four deaths on board : one of the crew, two adult steerage passengers, Mrs. Prebble and Mrs. Wheeler, and one infant, Yeng-elly. The ship Egmont left Gravesend, Thursday, September 11. 1856, pased the Equator, 12th of October, sighted Ti'istan D'Acunha, 31st October ; sighted Desolation 22 nd November; passed the longitude of Hobart Town 9th Decembei', 89 days out. Afterwards experienced squally unsettled weather, principally from the N.E., driving the vessel as far south as the Auckland Isles. Spoke, November 10, ship Red Gauntlet, from London for Sydney, 70 days out, in latitude 4.40 42' South, and longitude So S' E. November IS, Ship Telegraph, from London for Melbourne, 65 days out, latitude 450 9' South, longitude 100 42' E.
