TEARFUL STORM.
A torr'tßc thunderstorm broke over Brussels and its environs on Sunday evening, which lasted for about three hoars, and occasioned the loss of some lives and great; destruction of property. The thunder and lightning were of the most appalling character, and the rain and hail fell like waterspouts, and for a. time created the greatest alarm. The accounts received from the neighbouring parts of the country are very gloomy. In Louvain the river Senne and its tributaries overflowed their banks and completely inundated the lower parts of the houses and many of the streets. Some little boya that ventured to wade through the wa^er near the river for the purpose of catching the fish that had been thrown up from the ponds, were swept away by the torrent and lost. Several large trees were torn up by the roots and e-irried a considerable distance by the raging floods.
