The Lyttelton Times.
Wednesday, October 29; We have Wellington papers to the, 6th inst., hy ; the Maria Elizabeth. The Lady Grey had brought on the missing mails of June 4th and July sth; and we have received our share of them, along with the mail brought by the Hastings, which long expected ship had at last arrived. Mr. F. D. Bell had left Wellington to enter upon a new appointment in the north, and had been greeted at his- departure with expres? sions of good will from all parties, though his political conduct in [the Assembly,,opposed to that of the Wellington majority, had caused great excitement in the attack and defence by the respective sides. We shall give some extracts of local intelligence in our.next publication. From Auckland we. have one paper neither.new nor important. From Nelson we have no papers, but from private information by the Ocean Queen, we learn that Mr.; Trovers, has retired from the contest for the Superintend deney—further, that Mr; Robinson had v allowed himself to be, put in nomination, and was not unlikely-to cause Dr. Monro some trouble.
