TASMANIA.

We have received papers from Hobart Town to the 14th instant, and Launeeston to the 13th. ; -, ■ The news from the Fingal gold fields is thus given in the ; Courier' of the 12fch instant:— "; Our advices from Fingal are somewhat more encouraging; Mr. Wiseman was engaged in diverting a current from the river at Fonthill through a s Lon°r Tom.' Mr. Moses Seddon, an experienced and intelligent miner, lias the superintendence of a party of twelve men at about two miles from the ISTook, Harrison's G-iiloy, on a quartz reef. The party has sunk ar.cl driven nearly forty feet, and expect to carry it a hundred feet "before they come to profitable wasliing stuff. We are informed., however, that they are very sanguine of success. They have already obtained a quantity of broken quartz, eajli piece of which contains gold visible to the naked eye. Some of these are, Aye believe, to be forwarded to town. The number of persons employed in the search were as follows: — seventy at the Fingal ISTook, and thirteen at the Black Boy Flats. The reported produce for la-st week at the former was 4oz's., at the Black Boy 3 ozs. As 'the, search, at the. latter place is persisted in, so the quantity of gold found, though small and fine in grain, is increased in quantity and larger in size."
