The Street Repairs Committee is doing its duty, though no results are yet apparent. The answers to applications have not been received from the government, and the prison working gang is not yet ready for their service. The committee in its first meeting decided on the work to be done. First, the establishing driftways for the surface water, where necessary, under the superindtendence of the Provincial Engineer, and then tHe repairs of the footways in the following order:—Oxford-street on the west side, London-street on the south, Canterbury-street, Norwich quay, first from the Bridle-path to the Mitre, and afterwards from the Eobin Hood to the Canterbury Hotel. We believe, that the government has given a favourable answer to the application for some of the pipes lately arrived byftiie w' Sir E. Paget," to be used as culyerlF.'
