TASMANIA.
The prospects of the Fingal rlicrgings are thus noticed in the " Mercury "of the 23rd :—" We are enabled to append to this report the following official announcement for the last ■week. Sixty-one registered diggers at Fingal, and thirteen at the Black Boy Diggings. Seven ounces of gold obtained at Fingal,but none reported from the Black Boy field. Of the quantity of gold found, Mr. Cox purchased five and a half ounces, —the remainder the parties won Id not soil. Many of the men who registered have left, hay, ing exhausted their funds,. the troth being that labouring men have not the capital to enable them to remain while seeking* a remunerative gold field."
