Local Intelligence.

On Thursday last a deputation of the inhabitants of this town, consisting of Messrs. Latter, Le Cren. Alpovt, Bay field. Kades, Wormald, Cookson. Moore. Rhodes. Davis, and Dr. Donald, waited on Mr. Hamilton, Collector of Cus oms, and a member of the Executive Council, to urge on him to use his influence with his Honor and the members of the Council, to take immediate steps to repair the thoroughfares of this town, which are at the present time in a most disgraceful state. Mr. Hamilton received the deputation very courteously, acknowledged the necessity of some immediate steps being taken, and promised tc attend to their request.
