The Grand Lyttelton Stakes, open to all vessels fiiim 8 to 20 tons, engaged in the carrying trade of this Port. Entrance, 21s. with a Purse'added. * . 2. The Crimea Stakes, for Open Sailing Boats.under. 8 tons. Entrance, 10s. 6d., with a Purse added. \Z 3. A Rowing Match, for Five-oared Boats with Steersman. Entrance, 7s. 6d., with a Purse added. /%pJ A Rowing Match, for Four-oared Boats v*Uh Steersman. Entrance, 55., with a Purse added. 5. A Maori Boat Race, for 5 Oars. Entrance, 10s. 6d., with a Purse added. 6. A Dingy Sculling Match. Entrance 2s. 6(1., with a Purse added. 7. A Dock Hunt with Dingy, to be chased by two Fouf-oared Boats. Entrance, 2s. 6d., with a Purse added. The following Rural Sports have been determined upon:— Climbing the Greasy Pole Soaped-tailed Pig Race. A Foot Race, for men and boys Jumping in Sacks over a Stile A Wheelbarrow Race Jingling Matches Jumping over a Stake Grinning through a Collar A MEETING will be held at the Canterbury Hotel, on Thursday Evening, the 22nd instant, at Seven o'Clock, for the purpose of receiving subscriptions.
