Lyttelton, April 19, 1856. To the Inhabitants of Cnristclrurch and tlie Public AS NURSE and W HEELER have arranged to run a daily conveyance, between Christchurch and their usual starting point, I have determined to give them the full chance of carrying out their plan thoroughly, by withdrawing my cart from that line of road. I have kept open the means of communication though very inefficiently I grant, for some years, and urn glad the Carriers have it now in hand, as a business of itself, to be conducted upon a broader footing and with more convenience to the public ; this is the object to be desired, and if attained, my wishes are satisfied. Trusting my endeavours on the Road have been of some utility, I offer my best thanks for the patronage received. P.S. Spring carts for private parties on hire as usual. C. W. Bishop.
