Consolation Stakes, and forcer] Handicap, t» be na*ned, and colours of the riders to be declared under sealed cover to the Secretary of the Canterbury Jockey Club, at the Golden Fleece Hotel, Christchurch, on or before 7 p.m. on Wednesday, sth March. Horses for the Hack Stakes, Consolation Stakes, and Forced Handicap to be entered on the ground. No other post.entries allowed. No public money will be added to the sweepstakes or entrances, by the stewards, unless three horsi-s, the bona fide property of se« parate owners, do start. The riders in all the races, excepting the Hack Stakes, must appear in the usual jockey costume. A bell will ring for saddling, and another for starting. Not more than five minutes allowed after the last bell, when the horses at the post will be started. I Horses to be at the post for the Hurdle Race, and the Jockey Club Plate at 12 o'clock on each day. The rules of the Canterbury Jockey Club wili be strictly enforced. The entrances or| sweepstakes in each race will be 10 per cent, on the amount of the plate or stakes. ; The prizei will be paid by the Treasurer on Saturday, 15th March, at 3 p.m., at the Golden Fleece Hotel. Subscription Lists open at the different hotels. Subscribers are particularly requested to pay the amount of their subscriptions to the Treasurer, W. G. Brit!an,Esq., or to one of the stewards, on or before noon of Saturday, Ist of March, in order that the committee may be enabled to give due notice of the value of the several plates or stakes.
