The Lyttelton Times.

Saturday , January 5. The visit of His Excellency the Governor to this Province has, (we may say with confidence,) been hitherto attended with mutual satisfaction and pleasure. His reception has been that of an honoured guest, and he has expressed himself most gratified at the kind and hospitable feeling evinced towards him. His general demeanour has won from all classes golden opinions, and there is every prospect of a warm attachment springing up towards him. His Excellency's answer to the address of the Provincial Council, expresses all that he could be expected to say upon those topics of political interest .touched upon in the address. The assurance of his intention tc\ be guided in these questions by the advjce-of Responsible Ministers, contains in itself a perfect guarantee for the futnre good government of the Colony.
