Election of Church Property Trustees■VTOTlCE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that -L^l at a Special General Meeting of the Church Property Trustees, held on Thursday, the 6th instant, the Trustees, under the powers given to them in the 9th Clause of the Church Pi operty Trust Ordinance, and with the consent of the Bishop previously j obtained, did subdivide the Parish of Lytelton into the Parishes of Lyttelton and* Sumner; and the Parish of Christchurch iuto the Parishesof Papanui, Riccarton, Avonside, Upper Heathcote, Lower and Christchurch with Middle Heathcote. The various Parishes, therefore, into I which the Canterbury Settlement is at present divided for the purposes of the Ordinance, and the names of the Incumbent of each, to whom Notice of Nomination must be given according to previous advertisement, are as follows:—1. Lyttelton, the Rev. B. W. Dudley; 2. Sumner, the Rev, G. Cotterill; 3. Governor's Bay, the Rev. W. W. Willock; 4. Akaroa, the Rev. W. Aylmer; 5. Kaiapoi, the Rev. J. Raven; 6. Papanui, the Rev. C. Mackie; 7. Riccarton, the Venerable Archdeacon Mathias ; 8. Avonside, the Rev. C. Mackie , 9. Upper Heathcote (or Lower Lincoln Road), the Rev. W. W. Willock; 10. Lower Heathcote (or Christchurch Quay), the Rev. J. Wilson; 11. Christchurch, with Middle Heathcote, the Venerable Archdeacon Mathias. The Boundaries of the Parishes would occupy too much time for an advertisement, but any Person who is in doubt, may ascertain to what Parish he belongs, by enquiring of the Incumbents of the nearest Parishes, or of the Secretary. The Parishes, which previously returned more than two Lay Trustees (Lyttelton and Christchurch), being now subdivided, and, therefore, new Parishes, in the absence of any special bye-law increasing the number, will revert to the ordinary number, according to Clause X. of the Ordinance. v The number of Lay Trustees, therefore, to be returned by each of the above-mentioned II j Parishes, without exception, will be Two, namely, one elected by the Members of the Church in each Parish, and one nominated the Incumbent. r /^Nominations, as before advertised, must be nfade not later than the 14th instant, by Lettej, addressed to the Incumbent, who is directed to give Public Notice of the Persons Nominated, and of the places where Voting Papers are to be delivered, within Feur.Days after that date, either by writing affixed to the principal door of the Building used for Divine service, or by advertisement. Voting Papers may be delivered on any day from the 26th to the 31st day of December inclusive, and the day of declaration of Election, and of the Incumbent's Nomination, will be the Ist day of January, 1856. Voting Papers may be obtained at the Lyttelton Times' Office, Lyttelton ; the Canterbury Standard Office, Christchurch ; and at Mr. Black's, Kaiapoi.
