Society. -The first exhibition of flowers, frails, and vegetables, of this .Society, took place on Wednesday, and afforded a real treat to the inhabitants. The boquets of cut flowers were very brilliant, and elicited the commendations of all the visitors. The collection of roses was extensive and varied. The beautiful Calla iM.uopioa.ai one end of the table, contrasted in us virgin whiteness with the bright fl.uvers behind. The unusual lateness of the seusun preveute.d much competition in fruits, but gooseberries of most corpulent proportions, although in a state of greenness, abounded ; and one dish of cherries showed perfectly vijie. In vegetables, the poialoes and peas were unexceptionable, and we believed ,izy.l«l the judges somewhat as to their _ order of merit. Seme asparagus was of siwrilmg maunitude.
