THE FUNERAL OF LORD RAGLAN.
The war-steamer Caradoc arrived at Bristol on the 23rd of July, with tbe remains o£t;ihe late Commander-in-chief, Lord Raglan*. On the 24th July, the coffin, attended by bodies of troops, the late field marshal's relatives, and the corporation and officials of Bristol, formed in a procession from Bristol to Badminton Hall the seat of the Duke of Beaufort. After laying in state there for several hours, the mortal re: mains of the late field-marshal were interred on Thursday afternoon, it) the vault of the Beaufort family, in Badminton church, and were attended to their last peaceful resting-place by many gallant veterans and distinguished personages. At the laying in state, the coifin was placed in the centre of the apartment upon a raised bier, and was covered with a pall of black velvet, ornamented with gold lace. Around it were several mutes and soldiers of the Royal Gloucestershire Hussars, the latter acting as a Guard of Honor. On platfoims at the head of the coffin, arranged on cushions of red and purple velvet, fringed with gold, were the general's hat and swords, the field-marshal's baton recently presented by Her Majesty, and the various medals.and orders, both English and foreign, with which the warrior had been invested. On v sideboard were his lordship's steel cuirasses, and round about the body were placed numerous wax candles, and stands of mourning plumes. Lord Raglan has ibatiked the citizens of Bristol, through their chief'magistrate, for the sympathy and tespeut they have exh.bited oil this solemn occasion,
