The Society of Know Nothings.

The grand council of the Know Nothings of the Slate of New York, assembled at Syracuse on the Bth May, agreed on the following as their "platform" until the meeting of the National Council; — " 1. Americans shall rule America. "2. The union of the States. "3. No north—-no south—no east—no west "4. The United States of America as they are, oue and inseparable. " 5. No sectarian interference in our legislation, or the administration of American law. " Hostility to the assumptions of the Pope, through the bishops, priests, and prelates of the Roman Catholic Church, here, in a Republic sanctified by Protestant blood. "7. Thorough reform in the naturalisation laws. "8. Free and liberal educational institutions for all sects and classes, with the bible, God's holy word, as a universal text book."
