(From the European Times, May 2\st.) THE CRIMEA, A telegraphic despatch from Prince Gortsehakoffuas been received in Berlin. The Prince writes, that nothing very important had taken place in any part of the Crimea. The fire of the Allies before Sebastopol, he says, is very moderate. The allies have made a hew battery and effected certain repairs. The night of the 11 th and early on the morning oi the 12th, the Russians made a sortie from the Redan and the position before it, and spiked several guns in -the English batteries. On the 12th the allies exploded several camoulets before the Flagstaff B;i6tion, but did little harm. The French have placed two batteries on the ground conquered on the night of the Ist before the Central Bastion. The Trieste papers, of Friday last, publish the following despatch, which may be taken at whatever it may be worth :—" Eupatoria, May 4th.—80,000 Russians are menacing O.nar Pasha. Their cavalry is endeavouring to cut off the Allies' communications by land. The bulk of the Russian army, 150,000 strong, havingtaken up a position near Siinpheropol, is in uninterrupted communication with Sebastopol. Vab.va, May 17.—There is heavy firing every night at Sebastopol. The expedition to Kertch has not been renewed. Three divisions of the French army have left Muslak for the Crimea. Cholera has almost disappeared. Vienna, Friday Evening. New propositions have been prepared by the Cabinet of Vienna. If not accepted, it is said that Austria will maintain her armed neutrality. RUMOURED BATTLE. The 'Presse Orient' reproduces the rumour of a violent engagement having been fought between the Russians and Tiuco Egyptians, near,Baiak!ava. The Turks behaved admirably. They stood their ground for eleven hours, until the arrival of the Allies decided the victory.

Dantzic, Friday.' The Driver arrived here yesterday. Eight Russian merchantmen had been captured. Marseilles, Saturday, May 19. —The steamer Carmel has arrived, bringing news from Constantinople to the 10th May. MehemetAH has returned from exile. The expedition to Kcrtch has been abandoned, and the troops which were to take part in it were disembarked on the 7th instant. The earthquakes at Broussa had ceased. Pahis, May 19.—The Moniteur contains General Canrobert's report of the Ist and 2nd of May, before Sebastopol. It concludes as follows :—" This success has enabled us to advance our works 80 metres at one bound tosvards the Central Bastion, and has had an immense moral effect on the two armies. Th« health of the army is excellent ; the army is superb and of unrivalled energy. Its equipment is perfect; it stands in need of nothing.'' The correspondence from Marseilles, under date of the 17th, says:—"One hundred pieces of the battering train ordered to be shipped to the Crimea, are collected at the Artillery ground here." A telegraphic despatch has further commanded that 25,000,000 cartridges be forthwith despatched to the army before Sebastopol.
