The Lyttelton Times

Saturday, April 28, 1855. We are sorry to observe that our contemporary the Standard has .again thought fit to icsinuate broadly what we before distinctly and emphatically denied. What object the Standard can have in taking so offensive a course we are at a loss to imagine, but we must say that it lays itself open to a very serious imputation. We thought that our former assertion that His Honor the Superintendent has no connection direct or indirect with the Lyttelton Times, would be sufficient to prevent the Standard from attempting to fasten upon the head of the Government the responsibility of an opinion expressed by an independent journal.
