REGISTRATION OF VOTERS. Resident Magistrate's Office Lyttelton, April4th, 1855. NOTICE IS GIVEN.—AII persons desirous of having their names added to the Electoral Roll for the ensuing year must forward their claims in writing some time during the present month of April, stating the District or Districts in respect of which such claims shall be made, and signed either by the claimant or some other person in his name and by his authority, also the place of abode! calling or business of tbe claimant, and the qualification, in respect of which such claims may be.made. Claims to be addressed to the Resident Magistrate, and forwarded as follows:— For the town of Christchurch —to the care of Mr. Keele, Provincial Secretary's Office, Christchurch. For the Christchurch Country District—to the care of Mr. Keele, Provincial Secretary's Office. Christchurch ; or to the Resident Magistrate's Office, Lyttelton. For the town of Lytteiton—To the Resident Magistrate's Office, Lyttelton. The words " Claim to Register " being inserted above the direction. To prevent misunderstanding the public are informed that the boundary line between the Akaroa and Christchurch Districts consist in a right line drawn from the Conical Rocks midway between the eastern headland ol' Port Albert and the western headland of Pigeon Bay, dv* south across Bauks' Peninsula, meeting the sea at the western headland of Island Bay. All claims lying to the eastward of such boundary line being in the Akaroa and all to the westward in the Christchurch Country District. Charles Simeon. Resident Magistrate. To Persons in want of Servants and Labourers. ""VTOTICE is Hereby Given, that a -L-^ Register is opened in the Immigration Office' at Lyttelton lor applications for servants and labourers from airongst the Immigrants now shortly expected to arrive from England aud Australia. All such applications must be addressed to Captain Parsons, Immigration Agent, Lyttelton, and should state the number of servants or labourers wanted, the nature of the service required of them, and the place where immigranU may apply for such service. Persons desirous of having servants or labourers hired for:them on the arrival of any ship, must employ an ageut in Lyttelton to make such engagements. The Immigration Agent cannot interfere between employers and labourers further than to inform the immigrants wherelabour is required. John Parsons, Immigration Agent. Lyttelton, Feb. 24,1855. £250 POUNDS REWARD. WHEREAS a person of the name of James Mackenzie and others did, on or about the lstof March last, steal -md drive away about 1000 Sheep from the Timaru Station, and as there is reason to believe that the same men have, on previous occasions, stolen both Sheep and Cattle, and driven them away, the owners are of opinion tfiat there is a regular organized gang of thieves and receivers either in this or the Otago Province. The above Reward of £250 will be paid to any person or persons who shall give such information as will lead to the conviction of all the parties concerned, and the recovery of the whole of the stock.
