The Bills therefore to be drawn by persons in the Pro»ince with a view of assisting their friends at home in emigrating to Canterbury must for the future be at the rate of £12 for each adult, instead of £9 as heretofore. Powder Magazine, LytteltonTHE Provincial Governme nt are prepared to receive tenders up to Monday, April 2nd, for excavating a driftway in the cliff at Polhill's Bay, Port Victoria, to be fitted up as a Powder Magazine. A pian, specification, and form of tender may be seen at the Government Offices, Armagh Street, Christchurch, and at the Police Office, Lyttelton. THE Provincial Government will be prepared on Monday, April 9th, to receive tenders for putting in concrete foundations for the New Council Chamber. The plans, specifications, and conditions of contract may be seen at the Government offices, Armagh Street, Christchurch, on and after Wednesday, the 28th inst.; Tenders to be addressed to the Provincial Engineer, at the Government Offices, Armagh Street, Christchurch. April 2nd, to receive tenders of sundry works of ditching and embankment between Simmer and the Heatbcote Ferry, and for cutting a preparatory track along the line of the new road from Polhill's Bay to Sunnier valley. The works will be let on long or short lengths to suit tlie convenience of contractors. The plans and specifications maybe seen, and further particulars obtained on and after Monday, the 26th inst., on application to the Provincial Engineer, at the office of Public Works, Tuam Street, Christchurch. "V\7THEREAS a person of the name of ▼ V James Mackenzie and others did, on or about the Istof March last, steal and drive away about 1000 Sheep from the Timaru Station, and as there is reason to believe that the same men have, oh previous occasions, stolen both Sheep, and Cattle, and driveu them away, the owners-^ are of opinion that there is a regular organized"' - gang of thieves and receivers either in this or the Otago Province.
