A Coroner's inquest was held at Kaiapoi f^ 3; Wednesday morning on the body of Alb^iJeffs, a child of 8 years of age, drownedthe previous, Sunday in the Ay^imakiriri;; The duly witness of the fatal occurrence, aboy of about nine years, upon examination,appeared so ignorant of the nature of an oath, that the Coroner refused to swear him. The Jury thereforei returned an open verdict of" Found Drowned. "
