Leading Article was trained for the Nelson races in 1853, and was the favourite for the Victualler's Purse of 3 miles against Mr. llcdwood's celebrated horse Glaticus, and Mr. Newcomb's horse Joe Miller, but broke down in the race through an injury he had sustained in the Fetlock joint, notwithstanding, running a good second with Glaucus.
