RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
June 1. Robert Cartridge was charged with1 drunkenness, and fined 10s. June 2. Richard Bowen, on the part of his wife, summoned Mr. M'Quien, of the Ellesmere Station, for £9, represented to be owing for wages clue to his wile, as domestic servant, buJ disputed by defendant, as plaintiff's wife had left his service before the completion of the period agreed upon. Judgment for £l ss. ; costs divided. June 2. Patrick Morrison, a seaman on board the " Gilbert Jamieson," was charged with mutiny, and with striking the captain and mate when drunk. Sentenced to 12 weeks' imprisonment, with hard labour. June 3. Reginav. Looney. —James Patrick
t,ooney was arrested by the police near Rangiora, on suspicion of larceny. Alexander Rock deposed to having been robbed of £2 by prisoner, but the case was remanded for a week for further evidence. We understand that William Hurley, who ran away indebtad to several people, was captured by the police at Akaroa, and is now lodged in the Lyttelton Gaol.
