GoTJLAND, Provincial Secretary. ~~ NOTICE. ~~~~~ THE Agent of the Canterbury Association is _■ willing to receive Designs and Estimates for taking down the present church at Lyttelton, and for building a new church upon the following terms: — The design for a new church may include or not the working in of the materials of the present church, and to such extent as the Architect in his discretion may think fit. The materials not used to be.disposed of, and the value accounted for in the estimate. The new church to be of -wood, stone, or other material, and either of Gothic or Norman design, in the architect's discretion. The new Church to contain at least 350 sittings, and the cost (including the cost of taking down the present building and the value of the materials) not to ex eed £1500, and an approved builder to be found ready to complete the work for that sum. Designs and estimates to be sent in on or before 24th June next, either to the Rev. B. W. Dudley, or to the Agent of the Canterbury Association, to the care of Dr. Dudley, Lyttelton. A meeting of the Members of the Church resident in Lyttelton, and of Subscribers to a new Church, will be held as soon as con- ! yeniently can be after the day fixed for receiving designs, to which meeting the same will be submitted for approval. The sum of £26 ss. will be given to the Architect whose design shall be adopted, such design to be the property of the Association. All others to be returned without claim for remuneration. All the designs may be rejected. Lyttelton, May 4, 1854. NOTICE. ALL PERSONS having claims against the Undersigned, aye requested to send them in on or before the Ist July, ISM, and all persons indebted to the same are desired to discharge their respective accounts on or before the above-mentioned date, to prevent legal proceedings being taken.
