Robert Ferguson was charged with being drunk and disorderly. It was pioved that he had been convicted of the same offence on the sth January. Pined £l, and 4s. costs. March 6." Robert Ferguson was again charged' with drunkenness. This- being- the third time within six months, tlie prisoner was sentenced to forfeit £l, or in default of payment, to he locked up'for 48 hours ; an/1 to be imprisoned for seven days wiili hard labour. Lticas v. Whitley. —Thomas Lucas claimed from George Whitley the =urn of £l 12s. 6d.,. being balance of account between them. They had been working a boat on thirds, and the arrangement was . that Whitley, on receiving, the payment for freight, should givfi Lucas his share. Whitley maintained that one of the freights-had not been paid for. Judgment .for plaintiff. Only part of the costs charged—to be divided. Dai/ v. Love. —This was an action brought by' George Day to recover the amount of a bill drawn on him by Love in favour of Mr. Comp-, ton, which he had accepted and paid. The summons was produced and sworn to as having been served on defendant, who did not appear in Court. George Day deposed that Love bad drawn this hill on him to pay a debt, ;;;;d thathe had accepted it and been obliged to meet it, but that when he had since asked Love :o repay the amount, he had received nothing but opp.Kob.rious lan.<iiume.
