CORRESPONDENCE.
To the Editor of the Lyttelton Times. Sib, —In a letter received from Mr. Mark Stoddart, dated from Sydney, in October, he makes the following- communication, which, coming' through such a valuable channel, I think it well to lay before the Settlers, especially those who labour in tetrorem of a three months' infliction of the squalor carceris.' Your's truly, D. M. LA.TTKIE. NEW DIPPING FOR SCAB. Arsenic, £ oz., to one gallon of water. Salt, 6 lbs., to 20 gallons of water. Flour of Sulphur, 1 oz., to 1 gallon of water. Tobacco, 20 lbs., to 400 gallons of water. Arsenic and Salt to be boiled together ; Tobacco to be boiled by itself; Sulphur to be mixed with cold water: to be well stirred up previous to commencing, and frequently stirred during the dipping. Flocks have been cured by tins at one dipping, and on foul ground, and I trust it may be equally efficacious down with you.
