To Professor Holloway. Dear Sir.—The Sheep in the Wairau being all infected, more or less, with scab, it was suggested to some of the Proprietors to try your invaluable Pills and Ointment, all other means having failed to eradicate the disease. I was one of those who tried the experiment, and I am happy to say, with complete success ; all my sheep, which a few weeks ago were in a dreadful state, being now in a sound and healthy condition. The method I adopted was to administer the Pills in a liquid state, boiling them in sweet oil: the Ointment was rubbed into the skin, three time a-day for a fortnight. I find upon calculation that it took for each sheep just one box and a half of your Ointment, and two and a quarter do. of your pills, (No. 1 size) to effect this astonishing cure, which I have much pleasure in publishing for the benefit of owners of Scabby Sheep. I remain, my dear Professor, Your obedient and grateful Servant, J. C. Scott. Wairau, Ist October.
