AUCKLAND.
The exports from the port of Auckland continue steadily and satisfactorily to progress ; their amount in money value from the 6th of April to the sth of July inst, are estimated at £24,439— being £2,409 in excess of the like return for the previous quarter ; of this there has been jg9,25l worth in timber —sawn, in houses in frame, laths, batings, firewood, and shingles ; £3,021 .in grain, such as bailey,bran, maize, oats and wheat ; £324 in hay ; £ 1,977 in provisions, viz., hams and bacon, butter, cheese, and pork ; £6,515 in vegetables, to wit, carrots, onions, pumpkins, and potatoes. Wool reaches to £815 ; copper ore to £1000, and sperm oil to £390, every item indicating an increasing prosperity. The imports during the same period, from the 6th of April to the sth of July, amount to £12,019 ; of the live stock in the schedule, sheep are estimated at £2,390 10s., and horses at £140. Groceries, such as coffee, rice, tea, and sugar, amount to £7,525. During the quarter ended the 30th of June, there were 151 coasters, of an aggregate burthen of 3171 tons, and navigated by 381 men, entered inwards at the port of Auckland ; and 157 vessels of 3296 tons, and 360 men, cleared outwards. The estimated value of produce brought coastwise during the same quarter
amounted to £15,719 13s- 6d. There were also 17 vessels of 337 tons and 48 men entere<\ inwards, coastwise, at the port of Russell, during the same quarter ; and 14 vessels, of 248 tons and 42 men, entered outwards. The imports at Russell were £130 10s., the exports £797, and almost exclusively of colonial produce. At the port ofMonganui 18 vessels, of 316 tons and 65 men, were entered inwards ; 20 vessels, of 348 tons and 74 men outwards. The imports amounted to £411 Bs., the exports to £846. The returns of immigration and emigration for the June quarter are thus stated: 384 being the totals on the first, and 290 on the last columns ; leaving a balance of 94 immigrants in favour of the province. The arrivals are almos exclusively from Great Britain, New South Wales, and Victoria ; the departures, with the exception of 14, exclusively thereto.
