Gentlemek, I BEG to offer my cordial thanks to those of you whose earnest support has conferred on me the honour and responsibility of representing jou in the General Assembly; and I have also to acknowledge the courtesy and kindness evinced towards me during the contest by the supporters of both my colleague and the unsuccessful candidate. I would take this opportunity of strongly urging on both parties the duty of impressing on all inhabitants of the district who are duly qualified, the importance of activity at the nest registration, in. order' that they may be placed on the electoral roll. So many have hitherto neglected to obtain that privilege, that this district does not appear to have its due number of elect- , ors, in comparison with other districts within the colony ; and it is therefore in danger of being inadequately represented in the.Gen-' • eral Assembly. . .
