Genteeken, npHE Nomination of Candidates for the •*- office of Superintendent of this Province has been appointed to take place at the Land Office, Christchurch, on Mondaj% the 18th instant, and the Poll on the following i Wednesday. I beg again to solicit your votes and interest, notwithstanding a ruse which was practised at Akaroa for preventing my elec r tion (for which I shall hold the parties implicated, in that act responsible), and to : acquaint you that it is my intention to go to the Poll on the principles which I have' already avowed, and shall again repeat to you in an Address during the next week ; and if any further reasoning shall be requi- . site to induce .you, to-give me your support, it will, I make no, doubt, be found in the fact of such an unconstitutional proceeding on the part of individuals whose political principles are diametrically opposed to my own, who have by such efforts hoped to frustrate (but I trust vainly, for I am still qualified) my election, and thereby to maintain those, or one of those, candidates who are pledged advocates of the dying interests of the late Canterbury Association.
