Public Meeting at Christchurch. WE, the undersigned, earnestly request our fellow colonists, dwelling in or near Christchurch, to assemble in PUBLIC MEETING, At the Land Oefice, on Wednesday, 15th December, at 8 o'clock, p.m., in order to express their gratitude to Sir John Pakington, Her Majesty's Secretary of State for the Colonies, and to other public men and friends of the colony in England, for the introduction into Parliament, and carrying through it, of the Act to grant a Representative Constitution to New Zealand. IN consequence of the increased number of applicants for Lessons, a Second Elementary Class will be commenced on Tuesday evening next, at half-past 7 o'clock, when all persons wishing to join are invited to attend. The members of the Classes already formed are requested to meet at half*past 6 instead of 7 o'clock, as hitherto; and the Class for practice of Sacred and Secular Music every Thursday evening as usual.
