FLOUR MILL. TO AGRICULTURISTS. Gentlemen, — HAVING purchased a site for a Corn Mill, I take the earliest opportunity of making it generally known. The uncertainty of a market for corn, arising from the want of a mill, has, I am led to believe, occasioned much apathy in the agricultural interest. The cause being now removed, I hope will give a stimulus to increased effort. I intend to build a Mill for next season equal to the working up of any quantity of corn likely to be grown in the .Canterbury Settlement. I am, Gentlemen, your obedient servant, D. In wood. E. A HACK RACE, of £1 each, with — ■£*- added, open to all horses that have never won a race in Canterbury, or been trained; catch weights ; the second horse to save his stake. Mile heats. 2. A race, of £2 each, with — added, open to all horses, weight for age, 4-year old 9 stone 7 lbs., 5 years 10 stone, 6 years 10 stone 7 lbs., aged 11 stone ; any horse having won a race in the Canterbury settlement to carry 7 lbs. extra. Two-mile heats ; the second horse to save his stake. 3. A Cart-horserace of one mile, 10s. entrance, with — added, open to all horses that have been regularly worked in harness for the last three months, owners to ride. regulations. 1. No horses to be entered save by subscribers to the race fund. 2. Any horse distanced not allowed to start for the next heat. 3. All disputes to be settled by the stewards. 4. AH horses to be entered prior to April 7th, at the Golden Fleece. 5. Three horses to start for each race, or the public money will not be added. 6. All matches made, notice must be given to the stewards. 7. A space of 30 minutes will intervene between each race. 8. No false starts allowed. P.S. LYTTELTON AND CHRISTCHURCH BUILDING AND INVESTMENT SOCIETY. A Meeting of the Members of the above Society, and of all such Persons as may he disposed to become Members, will he held at the Mitre Hotel, Lyttelton, on Tuesday the 6th day of April, at 3 o'clock in the afternoon, at which Meeting the Officers of the Society will be elected, the time and place of the monthly meetings fixed, and the Rules proposed for adoption, after which the entrance fee of 2s. 6d. per share, and the first monthly payment of 10s. per share, will be received preparatory to the commencement of the general business of the Society at their next monthly meeting.
