" ~~ NOTICE is hereby given, that on Tuesday, the 6th of April, a Public Auction will be held in Lyttelton for the Sale of Town Land in Christchurch and Lyttelton. Parties desirous of purchasing any particular Section, may have the same included in the list for Sale by making application to that effect at the offices of the Association, either at Lyttelton or Christchurch, on or .before Thursday the 25th of March. To give effect to such application, it will be necessary to deposit the upset price of each Section, viz., £24 for the Half-acre Section in the Capital, and £12 for the Quarter-acre Section in the Port Town, at the Union Bank, to the credit of the Canterbury Association, on or before the same day. PATERSON and Co. being about to wind up their affairs in New Zealand, in consequence of the press of business in their senior branch in Launceston, have transferred their business in Lyttelton to Messrs. Cookson, Bowler, and Co., who will continue to receive the same descriptions of consignments from Van Diemen's Land. Messrs. P. and Co. beg to thank their friends here for their valuable support, and kindly request the settlement of all accounts on or before the 15th of April next. Steeple Chase on Easter Monday. IT is proposed to race for 2 Miles over a fair fencing country in the neighbourhood of Christchdrch. Gentlemen riders, 12st. For a SWEEPSTAKES of £20 Each. Entries to be made before 8 p.m. on Saturday, 26th March, with E. J. Wakepield, Esq., at the Golden Fleece Hotel, Christchurch. Forfeit, £\0 to be declared at the same place by 8 p.m. on the sth April. The ground to be chosen by Stewards, to be appointed by the enterers on the 26th March. THREE TO START OR NO RACE. To Bakers, Confectioners, and others. TO be Disposed op by Private Contract, One-Half part or Share of, and in the lucrative and extensive Business of a Baker and Confectioner, as now carried on by Messrs. Collier and Mason, on their premises in London Street, Lyttelton. Also, the Half part or share of, and in two Sections of Land, held on Lease for a term of 21 years, being No. 34 and 35, fronting upon London Street, together with the several Messuages or Dwelling Houses, Bakehouse, Shops, and other buildings, now standing thereon, or on some part thereof. Part of.the purchase money may remain on security of the premises.
