HP HE Commissioner, under the Ordinance -*- of Council, Session 1, No. 2, purposes on Tuesday the 17th instant, at Akaroa, to investigate publicly the claim-of Mr. George'Hempleman, Whaler, to lands in Banks's Peninsula, which he alleges to have purchased in the month of March, 1837, from certain natives, the then occupiers thereof, and for which full and complete payment was made by him to all the parlies interested, on the 2nd of November, 1839.
