AUCKLAND.

[From the " Wellington Spectator."]

We have received a Southern Cross of Nov. 21st. The first election of the members'of the Corporation of Auckland took place on the 18th inst. According. to the Southern Gross the spirit of the coatest was exclusively confined to the Middle Ward, the Candidates being Mr. Williamson, one of the proprietors of the New Zealander, and Mr. A. Clarke; the election terminated in favour of the latter candidate. A notification had been published by the Lieu-tenant-Governor that the oaths of office would be publicly administered to the Mayor and Corporation by the Chief Justice on the 22nd instant.
