THE Colonial Accounts of the Cantex--bury Association for the Quarters ending March 31st and June 30th, as prepared for ~i transmission to England, will be open to pubv iic inspection at the Accountant's office, Lyttel- / ton, on Friday afternoon in each week, from 1 - to 4 o'clock, and a similar course will be pursued with respect to future accounts, as soon as they shall have been prepared. To guard against the abuse of this permission on the part of persons actuated by mere curiosity, it is intended to charge a fee of Is. for each inspection. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that on Tuesday, the 7th of October next, a if Public Auction will be held in Lyttelton for the sale of Town Lands in Christchurch and ' Lyttelton. Parties desirous of purchasing any particular ' section, may have the same included in the list ' of those for sale, by making application in writing to that effect, at the offices of the Association, either at Lyttelton or Christchurch, on or before the 23rd of September next. To give ~ effect to such application it will be necessary to deposit the upset price of each section, viz. 24/., for the half acre section in the capital, and 121. the quarter acre section in the Port Town, at the Union Bank, Lyttelton, to the credit of the Canterbury Association, on or before the game day.
