A GLARING case of Ingratitude and Injustice, having occurred at the Resident Magistrate's Court, Lyttelton, on the 23rd ult., by which a Policeman named S. Madden has caused a respectable settler, Mr. S. Taylor to be fined Fifty Pounds. The friends of Mr. Taylor, request that all those disposed to aid and assist him under this difficult circumstance, are requested to leave their subscriptions at the Mitre Hotel, Lyttelton or Lyttelton Arms, and at the Golden Fleece, Christchurch. For Freight or Charter, the Schooner "Flirt," 13 Tons, To any PORT or part of the Peninsula, Sumner, River Courtenay, or Mutinhau. Apply to G. Day, on board. Conveyance of Goods to Sumner and Christchurch. The undersigned beg to announce that their Cutter the "HAWK" is now ready for sailing, and will take in goods for Sumner and Christchurch. She will go up to the Bricks, and is under the charge of Sam Taylor, whose ability and experience are well known, and whose care of the goods under his charge has long been appreciated. LONGDEN AND LE CREN. For Freight or Charter, The well-known Schooner "FLIRT," (late of Nelson,) 15 Tons. Scott, master. Apply to the Master on Board. For Freight or Charter, TO ANY PART OF THE COAST OF NEW ZEALAND, The Schooner "PALMER," 12 Tons. Skey, master. Has superior accommodation for passengers. Apply to the Master on Board. For Freight or Charter, The well known fast sailing Schooner "Fanny," 13 tons, Strickland, Master, to any part of the coast. For freight or passage, apply to the Master on board. MONEY. WANTED to borrow, and for such time as may be agreed upon, the several sums of 50l., 150l., 200l., and 350l. at 10l. per cent., upon mortgage of good Freehold and Leasehold Rural and Town Land and Buildings, in and adjoining Lyttelton and Christchurch. Apply to Mr. WORMALD, Solicitor, Canterbury Street, Lyttelton. SHEEP AND RAT DOGS. To be disposed of, by private treaty, Six Fine Whelps, two months old, and of the best breed. For further particulars apply to Mr. Campbell, at the Heathcote Ferry House, where the Whelps may be seen, or at the office of Mr. WORMALD, Solicitor, Canterbury Street, Lyttelton. A ROOM TO LET, SITUATE in a healthy part, and a short distance from the town. Apply to the Office of this Paper. BREAD and CONFECTIONARY. MESSRS. COLLIER and MASON, having now opened their Baking Establishment in London Street, most respectfully inform the inhabitants of Lyttelton, that families and shipping can be supplied with Bread and Confectionary on the shortest notice, and reasonable terms.
