Multum in parvo. Monday, March 23rd, 1885. A son of the Bishop of Rochester, England, has become aEomon Catholic. Whooping-cough has made its appearance in this town. Both the newly elected Mayors of Hobart and Launcestan are memhers of the Fourth estate. Bishop Stuart, the Bishop of this Diocese officiated at Hcly Trinity Church, last evening. The hrewery recently erected for Mr Wm. Kelly, at Ohinemutu, is expected to commence operations next month. A big native meeting is to be held at W aitangi next month, when Tawhaio is exqected to be present. The funeral of the late Mrs A. (Elmore took place yesterday afternoon, and was very largely attended.

The Wesley an church was crowded last evening on the occasion of Mr Slade's farewell sermon. The railway embankments of the United Einguom absorh something like 116,480 acres of good land. The visitors at the Nation al Art Gallery of New South Wales during 1884 numbered 157,409 on week days, and 105,452 on Sundays, making a grand total fcr the year of 262,861.
