St Patnck's morning was ushered m with beautiful weather. Large numbers of children belonging to tne different Roman Catholic Schools proceeded to the Domain yesterday, where their annual treat was held in company with the Hibernian Society, and amost enjoyable day was spent by both adults and youngsters. There is a row on between the tramcar and 'bus drivers, and legal proceedmgs are pending. A temperance bulletin entitled "A bit 'o blue" was published on Monday it is well written, and is published in the temperance interest. It contains several good illustrations. The railwav excursion to Waikato, yesterday was a great success, and all speak highly of the arrangements made by Mr Hudson for the comfort and convienence of the publc. It is estimated that ten thousand people visited the Domain where the sports were held, and everything passed off successfully without a hitch or accidednt of any kind. The Demonstration Handicap resulted as follows • Craig 1 ; Mormoch 2 ; Cosson 3. Craig also won the Hurdle Handicap easily Whiteside second. The Obstacle race was won by McDermott, McCarthy ' second, and Cosson third. The St. Patrick's Handicap was won by Mr 0 Hara. Telegraphic news continued in thi Supplement.
