The Government are wavering in their decision as to whether they should endeavour to destroy the Mahdi. News is to hand from the West African coast that the Germans have lowered the British flag, in Yictoria, on Camaroons River, and have hoisted the G-erman Standard in its place. A Press Association message says the British Oonsul has protested against the action ofthe Germans.
